HARM’S WAY AVAILABLE ON KINDLEUNLIMITED – tips for TheImageApothecary.com & Canva.com

HARM’S WAY NOW AVAILABLE ON KINDLE UNLIMITED! As I push for completion on the second book in THE DONOVAN LEGACY, CHASING DESTINY, I have moved HARM’S WAY to Kindle Unlimited. I’ve spent the past several days on THEIMAGEAPOTHECARY.COM downloading multiple images for book release ad-building. Special thanks to FLIP-FLOP SISTER, and fellow author, Mary Karlik for the author & marketing friendly insight into THEIMAGEAPOTCHECARY. I downloaded the images into my local PAINT folder and then moved them into Canva.com for actual manipulation. I’ve designed several ‘work’ graphics and brochures on CANVA.com so I had a basic understanding of the graphic design site. Again, user-friendly, and there is a FREE version so you can check it […]

Book Club Pro – an author promotional and marketing option!

I’ll start with the obvious. This is a blog about BookClubPro, a promotional and author marketing environment for the Twitter feed. I discovered this opportunity on Twitter via Stacie Sultrie, a Paranormal Romance Author. Registering for Book Club Pro took about 30 minutes out of my schedule. The registration sheet is comprised of basic questions, book links, author bio, book blurb, and if you have them in your wheelhouse, COMPRESSED TWEETS that Book Club Pro can use to promote your book. As I did not have all this information gathered, there was a bit of maneuvering between my Amazon site and my word document that contained my compressed tweets, but the entire process was painless. […]

Magic Harvest (Fairy Trafficking) by YA author, Mary Karlik Want to push aside the FAIRYTALE veil, and see what really happens between the pages of ‘once upon a time’ and ‘happily ever-after’? Then Magic Harvest is a definite read for you. Author, Mary Karlik, has woven a wonderful tale that intertwines magical creatures with the human world. Don’t Bungle your Blogging (or Become a Better Blogger – Writer)

In my daily perusal – read – of a multitude of blog and websites, I’ve discovered some uh-oh moments. Despite the type of blog, the number of individuals involved with the blog, or the purpose of the writing, the mistakes exist. No Grammar Police hat worn here. But I will say that on-page mistakes threaten our reader’s pleasure. Good writing is hard work. More importantly, easy reading is harder work. GOOD GRAMMAR — Wait! Don’t stop reading yet. I know . . . I know . . .The word GRAMMAR should be issued in a whisper. Ears snap closed like a gator before his midnight snack. Patience, Padawan – this could be useful information. I’m […]

Another article up at Ezine Articles . . .

How fun! Another article — Creating Extraordinary Writing from Ordinary Phrases has been accepted by Ezine Articles. Hubby is hard at work pushing my articles out and about, so I’m really clueless as to where all my articles have spidered (technical Google term) at this point. It’s possible to see my by-line on any number of Internet sites as a result of his marketing tenacity. The article writing is part of my self-promotion plan — building a readership from all spectrums. For those interested in submitting to Ezine just click on that link. As an article author, you are required to open an account with Ezine. No, it doesn’t cost anything. Word of warning, they […]

What you know and how to write it in an article . . .

Article writing 101 . . . actually, it’s more like pre-101, however, it’s been tremendous fun sharing a number of the writing lessons I’ve learned. Good writing is important for everyone — a point I’m constantly making to my kids. Whatever the career, whatever the emphasis, everyone needs to know how to communicate, and communicating through written word is crucial. Apparently, EZine magazine thinks it’s important, too, because they’ve accepted several of my articles regarding writing. They sent this link: ezinearticles for my Clear and Concise Writing. For those of you who don’t think you could write an article, consider all the things that you know how to do — there will be a lot! […]

10 . . 9 . . 8 . . 7, can you say LAUNCH?

Here I am in cyberspace!!! Again!!! My website, SLFERGUSON is launched. The building, and rebuilding of the pages, the tweaking until the site and I both screamed, the hunt for the perfect graphics, and the exploration of embedding music and links was certainly worth the effort. Special thanks to my fabulous hubby who learned all things great and wonderful on how to ACTUALLY publish the website. As I’m working on a seminar about self-promotion, the building of the website was great experience. Would I say it was easy? Uh, definitely not. But can the skill be learned? Absolutely so. I love when you pop by my back porch for a visit, but do pop by […]
